Chaplain Program

The Chaplain is a civilian volunteer of the Sheriff's Office and is an Ordained Minister. Throughout the year he assists with such ministries as accompnaying Deputies on death notifications.  He arranges lodging, meals, and/or transportation for transients. He also visits the jails, attends funerals, and does home and hospital visits on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office. He rides with patrol deputies on a regular basis and provides invaluable assistance and support to Deputies making death notifications and responding to suicides. In 2007 the Chaplain participated in over 100 activities with the Sheriff's Office.

The current Chaplain is Pastor Josh Wall of the East Waynesville Baptist Church.
